Seven bloody hours to download it and I'm on a 70 meg connection!

Oh please Land Rover make them incremental or failing that allow us to chose individual countries to download.

Or increase your server capability / remove the download throttling!

for those struggling with updates , remember unplug any usb2 devices before adding your usb3 stick , defaults to slowest speed on bus.

I'm new to this thread and really disappointed with the Sat Nav update process - £97 seems a quite unreasonable cost for a one time update of an SD card. Am I to understand that the latest 10292 Map in the Updater is only up to Q3 2017?

Map updates for cars where there is no internet link will always be approximately 1 year out of date. So an update released in 2018 will be based on data from 2017.

You can update it yourself, just paying for the maps (unless it's still free). So with their labour / time to update them for you, yes it might cost that.

Depending on which system you have:

InControl Touch (8" screen with buttons either side): https://landrover.welcome.naviextras.com/. Cost is £97 per update although updates have occasionally been had for free.

InControl Touch Pro (10" screen no buttons): You get updates free for 3 years I believe which should be to Nov 2019 for you, but can get them here: https://www.landrover.here.com/ (I have ICT so the info about ICTP is from memory, if I get it wrong someone will be along to correct me)

Would be useful to put your car spec in your signature so we can help with the right information.

Just downloaded the map update software for the standard Touch. When I press the Update Map button it tells me 'There is no update available for your device, or all available updates have been installed already.'. Yet if I browse the files on the SD card they are all dated May 2015. Is that correct; there have been no map updates since then?

The "update" function installs any free updates.

But this should not be confused with buying new maps. You need to create an account, sign in and then buy the latest maps. Please see earlier posts about the latest maps (e.g. in Dec 2018 map update 27.3.10292 (covering 2017 Q3) was available for £97).

Incidentally, you don't need to browse the SD card to find out what map version you have, that info is from the car's InContol satnav settings screen.

Thank you so much - I tried getting maps from https://www.landrover.here.com/#home/0 and went as far as creating an account etc but when it asked for my VIN number it said it was incorrect... and I got stuck from there. I thought with the package I had I would get free updates - I have the remote app etc and In control secure etc which doesn't expire until dec 2019 but I'm lost as to how to get it to work. Inchcape Land Rover in Guildford were clueless for help....

Incidentally, new map data 28.4.10727 is available using data from 2018 Q4. To avoid confusion, you'll have to select "buy" to get this.

Depends which version you have. If it's in touch pro then monthly updates should be free? They are on my 5 month old Evoque. If already registered to someone else it would have to be deregistered I think. You may need to talk to your dealer to get that done..
If you have Touch or Touch Plus you would have to pay, but you still need to log on, so the same applies.

I've noticed that the Mac version of the map updater tool does not work with MacOS Catalina as it is not 64bit.
