Incorrect tolerance in manufactureNoDiscoSport said:Oz video of the noise and the damaged shafts causing it.
The thing that bugs me after viewing that video a few times , and then looking at the spares list I can only assume the new balance shaft comes with the bearing already fitted to it.Chippy said:"Incorrect tolerance in manufacture
Oil system blockage , or even incorrectly assembled oil pumps , or poor quality oil.
Perhaps a fixed ball would have lasted longer."
This costs money so the problems could be attributed to cost savings and why should JLR care how the customer suffers.
Thanks for that , did you manage to get the date of release for this?G30RGE said:latest status on Topix

Yep, changing half a bearing is never a good idea, which child thought that was ever going to be a fix!Badgerface said:Well well well......there's a turn-up!

Good decision given the number of unwanted diesel engines there must be lying around.Barnsh said:Cheers George for the quick reply.,G30RGE said:N128v3.JPG
I guess that means new engines with the lack of any other fix in place as per here..

... once Balancer shaft whine and Turbocharger whine have been eliminated, this fault should be attributed to Driver whine and charged accordingly. :lol:make sure the vehicle is not suffering from a Turbocharger whine before completing this campaign

Correctly diagnosed balancer shaft whine issues can continue to be repaired under warranty.
Pretty bad wording again though : campaign suspended , keep changing the shafts .G30RGE said:it is left open by their statementCorrectly diagnosed balancer shaft whine issues can continue to be repaired under warranty.
Surely that means change the engine once correctly diagnosed?G30RGE said:it is left open by their statementCorrectly diagnosed balancer shaft whine issues can continue to be repaired under warranty.
