HDC not available and other System faults **all obvious causes already ruled out

So I’ve had 2018 DS 2.0 manual diesel since April 2023. During the ownership it has had:
  • new battery
  • new timing chains
  • new clutch and slave cylinder
  • front brake discs and pads
The last 3 were done simultaneously at the end of May 2024 and all works were always carried out at JLR specialist garage with full official JLR SDD.
The car was fine until August 2024 when it started periodically throwing up these errors (in this particular sequence):
  • HDC not available System fault
  • Stability control not available Drive with care
  • AEB not available
  • Forward alert not available
  • Forward alert not available (pops up 2nd time in a slightly different layout on the dash across 2 lines of text whereas the first one is on a single line, so seems like it’s getting triggered twice)

The car has been back to the garage for a full diagnostic and a software update. They had it on the ramp and checked the sensors, wiring and also for ingress of water, but could not identify the cause. The diagnostic software didn’t pick anything untoward either. They were hoping the software update would have sorted it, but it was wishful thinking.

The error set is intermittent and even though the garage did take it for an extended test drive they couldn’t reproduce it themselves, so all they have is a video of my dash with the sequence of errors.

The errors generally appear when moving off at speed at a junction or on a sharp bend. They go away after an engine restart and sometimes even while driving off their own accord. The errors disable all special programmes, which is very worrying when we got the car especially to drive kids safely down country roads in snow and ice. We’ve got a long journey coming up at Xmas and I am mortified about doing it with kids in this car.

I’ve read through the forums, but all the obvious reasons for these errors such as the battery, unofficial parts, worn wires on ABS sensors have been ruled out by the garage already.

The car is 5 years old now, but it’s done only around 60k miles and has been well looked after with regular services and all advisories always taken care of etc.
I am not sure where to turn to next. I hope someone here knows what it’s all about.

Firstly - don't be worried. As you say, the very worst that happens is you pull over, shut off the car and restart, which will clear the issue if it pops up.
Off the top of my head the only thing that potentially links these things, and would have any relevance to enthusiastically setting off, is the brake pedal switch. I'm a bit surprised no causal faults are logged when it does this though. Still, cheap fix if it was.

UPDATE: before I had a chance to get it back to the garage, the array of errors got suddenly replaced by just one error to do with a break pads being worn even though it had a set of new ones done in spring 2024. Weirdly, this was a good thing as this error stopped the special programmes being disabled. I took it back to the garage in January, and it turns out that one of the sensor on the rear offside wheel got dislodged (probably from wading through floods recently) and damaged. The error cleared once the sensor was replaced. The other errors were dealt with by calibrating the front camera and radar. All good now and total cost was just under £200. My warranty won’t cover as this is deemed wear and tear, but I feel relieved as it fixed now and the costs weren’t as astronomical as I’d expected.
