Child security lock issues

Set out on a 600 mile drive and an hour in the child security lock started clicking on and off on its own. The drivers window also had a mind of its own and on one occasion the passenger front window went down then up. To stop the flashing on the dashboard I wedged some cardboard into the switch so it just clicked in the door intermittently and stopped it flashing on and off on the dashboard. Anyone had this issue? Landover can't look at the fault for weeks. My concern is this could lead to further electrical issues with the car. Could it just be a motor issue and if so are they easy to replace? Thanks. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Not experienced this personally, but as the child lock button and window switches are part of the same switch pack on the driver's door, then I would suspect either a faulty/loose wire connection/switch pack or a faulty Driver Door Control Module located inside the driver's door. (As this module reports to the Body Control Module, it too can't be ruled out) I have attached a graphic showing the removal of the driver door switch pack, which may help identify any loose wires. Otherwise, it may necessitate having the car plugged in to an OBD scanner for a diagnostic trouble code to pinpoint the problem. View attachment 12298
Thanks for the info and the drawings which helped me take out the switch and after a couple of blows have put it back in pending a test drive. Hadn't realised it was so easy to remove and have googled replacement at around ÂŁ70 so if not fixed will replace and then move onto the door module.đź›
