AdBlue injector cleaning (P20EE)

Hi folks

I suspect my AdBlue injector is blocked which is resulting in error code P20EE. The DPF was recently cleaned however so this is frustrating. Having watched several videos on how to check this which make it seem simple, I am properly stuck.

I’ve located the AdBlue injector and released the retaining bracket but the sensor will not disconnect from the DPF as it should. It moves but won’t slide off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Open the bracket allowing the injector to come out, plenty of videos about it on Youtube - O'reilly's auto. Where the bolt goes through it needs to compress to allow the clip to pop out then the bracket opens up & the injector falls out. Clean the port in the DPF as well as the end of the injector. Watch out as the wires on the injector are prone to going open circuit (known problem). There is a repair kit available from JLR through the main stealer (dealer).
Thanks for the extra advice. Have been trying to follow the O’Reily videos which have been excellent so far. Having removed the hex bolt from the bracket the injector won’t come off. Hard to describe so here is a short video -
I’m stuck (no pun intended) so would welcome any suggestions.

Thanks so much. Managed to get it open but disappointingly found no crystallised Adblue on either side of the connection. Wiring looks intact so not sure where to go now to resolve the fault. Given there was no NOx fault code prior to the DPF being cleaned I am of the view that whatever has failed is because of the work done or is that wrong. Could just be bad timing I suppose or repairing one issue has triggered another. Seen a lot of that on here with these cars.

Dreading the NOx sensor replacement. Saw a new one on offer but missed out. Full price is eye watering. Wires appear to be okay as far as I can tell but going to take it to my local indy garage to have a look to make sure.

Check the wiring to the NOx sensor, after the DPF, quite often is chafes on the aluminium panels under the vehicle. Next point is to change the NOx sensor (not cheap - had to change on mine (still have issues like a regen every 20 miles but at least I get the green Regen finished message now). Next step for me is a complete EGR system clean along with an EGR filter change & DPF flush. My biggest issues with all this are 1 - have tried to drive at 40mph in Wales now? & 2 - The oil needs changing again, only done 2,000 miles ago (caused by oil dilution due to the constant regens). Funny that my NOx sensor also failed after a DPF flush, during the next flush I'll ask them to remove before flushing in case the chemical attacks the sensor.

Hi Aphex,

The garage that undertook the work told me it was an overnight off the car job. It was after the red triangle of death appeared on the dash and that has now since gone along with all the other fault codes - the car also needed new glow plugs and timing chain replacement. The garage advised not connecting my own mini OBD2 into the car to check for fault codes but instead to bring it back at 500 miles for them to check. By the time I had driven the 8 miles home I couldn't resist the urge to connect the OBD2 and that's when I found the P20EE fault code for the Nix sensor. This code was not present before. The car also developed a nocking noise when it goes over speed bumps which wasn't there before and from going under the car these last few days it appears that is due to the DPF being slightly loose and therefore knocking on the underside of the car.

I'm going to check the NOx sensor wiring as I need to get under the car to find the part code in the event it's a replacement job (2016 DS 2.0 Ingenium). I can't help wonder though whether the garage have done something either accidentally or otherwise to generate additional work which they know will be a quick fix but might allow them to charge me more. Needless to say this was a new garam for me as none of my trusted folks close to home will touch the DS/Ingenium combo.

Thanks so much for all the advice.
