I suspect they are just trying to scare you into submission relying on the fact that you do not know your rights.

Nothing to lose in replying with the text that Barnsh has provided. It would also be a good idea to send it “recorded delivery” directly to the dealer principal

Email bomb the Directors of the parent company.

If you can find those details on the net, then you should be able to find out who serves on the board and the way the firm normally addresses an email, you know, “Tom.thumb@ratstones.com” that sort of thing.

What ever you do , do not accept a trade in value.
You are entitled by law to more than this under rejection.

Dealers like to try on the “ well give you another car of similar age and mileage” !
Dealers like to try on the “ well buy your car back at trade price” .!

Neither of the above are compliant with UK law.

Yes under UK law
First 30 days no reduction at all
After that a reasonable amount can be deducted for fair useage. Which is usually 35-40 p a mile . The mileage deduction amount must exclude the first 30 days.
But certainly don’t offer that deduction at the outset.😀

The dealer is obliged to supply a breakdown of any deduction amount to you on request by law.

I got a full replacement next spec up at no cost .

It very much depends how upto date the dealer is with the current law.

Note if your car is on Finance you reject it to the finance company, as they are the owner.
