Post by rmf016 » Fri Sep 14, 2018 1:18 am

I am a D3 owner thinking if getting a MY15 DS, hence joined this forum. The DS is a 2.2L in HSE... anything to be aware off before I get my hands on it please? Thank you!

Also could not find a proper site to decode my vin... and help suggestions appreciated!

If you are used to a D3, you won’t like the DS’s lack of physical presence - I didn’t and defo regretted it.

The 2.2lt engined DS appears reliable and fault free.

Join the JLR ToPix web site, doesn’t cost anything and then input your ViN.

I moved from RRS. yes DS is a bit lower and a bit less refined - 4cyl vs 6 . Sometimes being smaller is an advantage parking is much easier.
The DS is just as usable large inside as RRS. clever packaging.

I've had my 2.2 DS for over 2yrs I(2nd owner who did 11K miles) and 33K miles completed with no issues with the engine, and of course no AdBlue to worry about. In fact the whole owning experience has been a breeze, must be one of the lucky ones!

Does anyone have an e-brochure of the 2015 model?

With respect, Chicken George, that's not really relevant to this thread. The OP is looking at a 2015 2.2 Duratorq Disco Sport. I could equally have posted "9,000 miles, 2 premature oil changes due to diesel dilution, high traces of wear metals, new EGR Valve, new EGR cooler, new SCRF, rejected as not as described, not of satisfactory quality." You see? It has nothing to do with this thread.

To the OP, good luck with the DS, just be sure it hasn't got the B-pillar rattle. Other than that I think these sound like great cars to own. How much are they asking and what is the mileage?
17MY DS150PS 6 speed manual. Rejected as "not of satisfactory quality", "not as described", Consumer Rights Act 2015.
