First service costs share / sticky

Post by Iamthemanny » Thu Jul 12, 2018 12:41 pm

Would it be possible to have a sticky or list of Dealers costs for first 21k service. I had no more money for service plan :(

I have seen some say 395 while I was told 540 yesterday.

I am towards Brighton but if 150 quid difference would Drive elsewhere

I could start
Harwoods Crawley - £540 21k service
Junhe 17 HSE, Loire Blue, Entertainment pack, In Control Connect Pro, 2 usb sockets in second row, black roof bars.
Extra optional extra included  Oil dilution issues thrown in as "Good will" due to my "Driving style" :( :( :(

Guy Salmon (Sytner) Stratford on Avon £458.44
Listers Solihull £461.34

These are Retail prices, and they all have a discretionary level of discount t that they can apply if you ask for it.

If you use this link, you can get the pricing (Retail) from any dealership in the country, if you have the time and patience.

If your looking to drive down cost of ownership with servicing, just use a good independent landrover garage.
Plenty around that charge half the price.
EU law states they can’t invalidate warranty if genuine parts and correct oil are used at any garage.
And we’re still in the EU .....just.

No need to use a vastly overpriced dealership at all.

There’s already another thread on here about this use the search button and you’ll find that even owners can update service history ,so you could change your own oil and filter to cut costs further. There’s a video on here too on how to do that.

The only problem with that Barnsh is no independant that I'm aware of is able to reset the oil/service indicator, without Pathfinder/SDD

If you know of one, please share as I have NO desire to pay main dealer extortionate rates, and sadly my excellent Banbury-based independant doesn't have the thousands invested in Hardware and Software that JLR insist upon with these vehicles.

Not Banbury but try Venture 4x4 in Shipston

http://venture-offroad.co.uk/

I'm not far from Banbury and used them last year. They did an LR service + LR parts and updated the OSH. They have also serviced our Freelander 1 with a generic service/parts. I'm assuming they still have the same LR relationship regarding software et al.

When getting quotes find out if brake fluid change is included.
It’s due every two years but it’s not included in the basic 21k service cost
