Turns out to have been an over-reaction, its a genuine NHS flyer but over exaggerating the dangers.

Network Rail employees have been told not to leave sanitiser in the car as word has it two vans have gone up.

I can understand this coming from NHS .
There have been a few cases of smokers who went outside Hospital main doors to light up & then set fire to themselves because they’d also just applied hand sanitizer.

Might sound funny, but not if you’re in a wheelchair or suffering with other health issues.

From this mornings DMG Media:

Meanwhile, fire chiefs said they wanted to 'debunk this myth' that hand sanitiser left in hot cars could pose a fire risk.

Roy Wilsher, National Fire Chiefs Council chair said: 'We want to reassure people that this product will not combust if left in a car - even on the hottest day. For hand sanitiser to cause a fire it would need to come into contact with a spark.

'Hand sanitiser is very important in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, therefore it is is essential we debunk this myth.'
