Topix - won’t let me log on?

Post by OT76 » Sat Mar 16, 2019 9:08 pm

Just wondered if anyone can offer any suggestions. I have already registered, but when I try to log in I just get a message saying ‘user access not possible, please contact the help desk for assistance’. Want to get a view of anything outstanding for my car.
Many thanks

Worth checking you are on Land Rover TOPIx not Jaguar. They look the same but are different.

Just checked mine. It asked me to change password, which I did, then asked me to log in with new password (my computer tried to log me in automatically with the old one). I'm now logged in.
Edit: It has changed (yet again), but still has the same features available if you look. Asked me to approve the new GDPR statement before letting me in. Something I've not noticed before is a list of field actions and technical bulletins, available from the sidebar on the left under "bulletins". These don't necessarily apply to your car, but if you are having problems it could help direct you to an appropriate fix (although you'll have to pay to read it).
For example bulletins include "SSM72796-L550 Discovery Sport Tailgate Alignment Issues".
I think this could be very useful, as it would direct you to the correct bulletin which someone may already have posted on this forum.

Thank you both, I have tried again this morning and it is still giving me the same message. I registered as an independent operator.

Still won’t let me log in , their support gave me a low priority case .
They responded with “we’ve done the needful, please try again”

I’ve responded
“The needful didn’t work”

A bit like getting to the dealership ......waiting ...waiting ....

I get this error on trying to retrieve password after it asked me to change it, it then refused the new one , keeps popping up accept new conditions , which I can cause it says log in to accept this.

Software is not a strong point with JLR 😂😂😂😂

Barnsh,
The screenshot you posted is from Jaguar TOPIx. Land Rover TOPIx is a different site.

Sorry to h ave to tell you , BUT
The same login works to access Landrover and Jaguar.topix.

Just like InControl, it is the same , the back end log in is shared on their database .
You notice all these quirks when you change from one to the other or own both.
Always has been like this.

Oh and it’s the same shared back end for the “ book a Service on line “

It causes much havoc on their systems when you have a private plate too and move it from one to the other, it needs manual intervention by JLR .

Ah, that must be because you own/have owned both? I have tried to log in to the Jaguar side by accident in the past (the Jaguar one comes up more obviously on Google) and it won't let me in. I thought that might be your problem.

Yes I was confused as when I registered for Jaguar topix it said account exists , I then found if I had a log in then a subscription I could see both sides.
I wondered if my issue might be because they perhaps separated it at last.

My private reg brought up a Landrover on the jaguar topix for a few weeks.

In in control I couldn’t register the jag as it said account exists , when I tried to add the jag ( same reg plate ) it said car exists.....had to log into Landrover In Control delete Vehicle there then hop back to jag incontrol , use the same log in and add the jag.
Dealer couldn’t register the jag in in control , so it was left to me with trial an error.
Might be useful info if someone hops over to that side or vice versa.

It’s a shared error database too 😂
