Re: Electronic parking brake
I've never touched it either (DS & Evoque) and there is no real need to do so.

Also never touched it, in 5 years of Evoque and DS ownership. I did use it on a LR Experience once in one of their cars, pulled it on when doing a rate of knots and it pulled the car up pretty quickly as it shoud do.

Re: Electronic parking brake
I’ve used it a few times at lights / in queues etc. To hold the car in gear to save using footbrake / blinding cars behind in the dark.
Not had a problem with the lever on or off (but it works either way, you can pull/pull or push/push to activate/deactivate.
I tried activating it at about 40mph once as I thought I read it’s a feature for the passenger to activate to bring the car smoothly to a stop. But it felt more like a traditional handbrake application with max handbrake effort applied.

Re: Electronic parking brake
But how the heck does one manage to break it off that what baffles me.
Or is actually a “break” handle

Re: Electronic parking brake
At first you could snatch at it just through force of habit if used to a normal lever. I use mine quite often in traffic queues and you soon learn to treat it like a switch then wait for the instrument panel light before you relax your leg on the brake pedal. Definitely not a good idea to use it while still rolling though.

Re: Electronic parking brake
I'm glad some members do use the parking brake at traffic lights in the dark - the rest just dazzle the drivers behind with their brake lights !

Re: Electronic parking brake
How right you are John but to be honest I'm past caring.
I would say that out of 100 cars that I stop behind night and day 99 of their drivers keep their foot on the brake.
