Blimey! I'll let you know when I've ploughed through 273 pages.

The chip in question was also used on the 3.0L TDV6 engine vehicles.

First few pages then page 109 is most relevant

Bosche and the EDC17 certainly crops up in every case of cheating .
Note it’s also fitted to the Jaguar XE 163bhp

Not disputing its possible but the bosch device is not a cheat device in itself. Someone needs to programme it so.

Id like to think someone has audited all uses of this device by now.

I thought it was firmly established that not cheating causes the ingenium scrf problems?

Incorrect it is built into the device read the findings in full.

Built into the EDC17 ECU supplied by Bosche , Bosche will not comment due to legal cases over who’s idea it was
But it is without doubt inside the unit , identified in blue , if you understand electronic logic circuits it’s easy to follow .
It centres round the temperature at which emissions are controlled , also around the use of EGR at specific low temperatures.. it is covered in the ECU by calling it “acoustic reduction”.

This is aside from the steering wheel moving issue which came later , ( move steering wheel detects normal use, don’t move steering wheel detects test )

Having a degree in Electronics helps with understanding. I have a masters in it.

read it for 30 seconds found this:-

The automotive industry uses the ASAM MCD-2 MC [1]
file format, commonly called A2L, to communicate elements
of a firmware image that a car manufacturer must modify in
the calibration process
. Generally speaking, an .a2l file is
comparable to a .map or .pdb file used by developers on the
Linux or Windows platform, respectively. While all of these
file types map debugging symbols to concrete addresses, .a2l
files can also give contextual information beyond mere symbol
names. The format is developed to “support . . . automotivespecific
processes and working methods” [1]. Consequently,
additional metadata used to describe an address (i. e., an ECU
variable) may include axis descriptions for lookup tables,
information about the byte order, or unit conversion formulas.
An example is given in Listing 1 in the Appendix.
Given that .a2l files contain lots of details and insights
into a given ECU, they are typically only available for people
working on engine development, calibration, and maintenance.
However, car tuning enthusiasts also regularly get hold of these
files and trade them at online forums. In order to understand
the inner workings of certain ECU firmware images in more
detail, we obtained access to such files. When we were not
able to obtain a .a2l file for a given firmware image, we
focused on binary code only and leveraged insights gained

It is only theory , but everyone else that fitted the EDC17 seems to be being caught of late , so thinking the possibles here , that :
Landrover
didn’t know about this,
didn’t use this part if the circuit ,
Used it without knowing.
Did know about it , and hastily removed it prior to DS release.

All possible of course.

But in every single case of those being caught , every single one denied it at the outset.every single one used the EDzc17 ECU

And yes , not cheating , or removing cheating element can cause the issues we see.
Reduced mpg
EGR failures
Blocked DPF due to over regeneration frequencies
Shortened life iof SCRF (DPF) ....EU states must last 120,000
