Land Rover dips 11.4% in March as FY2019 closes.

Post by PhilMabbots17 » Mon Apr 08, 2019 1:53 pm

Final sales figures for FY2019 have been released to the press. This from The Guardian.
JLR sold 578,915 vehicles globally in the year to March, down 5.8%. In March alone, sales fell 8.2%, mainly because of an 11.4% decline at Land Rover, while Jaguar recorded a 0.2% dip.

The carmaker blamed weaker demand in China, whose economy has slowed sharply. JLR sales in China slumped 34%, while sales in Europe were down 4.5% because of uncertainty around the future of diesel vehicles, and the impact of new emissions legislation. The effects of the fuel efficiency and emissions testing procedure, called WLTP, have been felt across the industry.

2017 (66) Mercedes GLC 220d 4Matic Sport

Gee....
I wunder what the figures would have been if JLR actually got their quality and customer service right.. I know I contributed to their loss with 2 rejections.... and then moving on to another brand never to return!

Surely, can't they see they are possibly loosing their customer base due to poor quality and crap customer service, yep there is a downturn within the whole motor industry but some brands are going gangbusters.. are there any lessons there for JLR?

Cheers
