Heated seats

Post by decho » Tue Dec 04, 2018 1:58 pm

As its freezing today I decided to take my new Landmark for a short run and try out the heated seats. It seemed to take a long time for them to warm up and even on full they were nothing like as hot as my Freelander seats use to be.
Anyone else notice this?

Have you got Eco mode enabled? If that's on then yes it takes ages.

No, it's switched off.
After a 10 min run the passenger seat which was unoccupied was not warm to touch. Even the drivers seat was only Luke warm

Unless occupied, the seats don’t tend to heat up much.

Plus I would also add, it's not like the Freelander with just a heatpad embedded in the leather seat base or upper lumbar...it's hot air being blown through the perforations in the leather. (or cool, as the case may be) Dont believe me? Pull over whilst in situ and put your fingers an inch from the perforations and feel the warm (or cool) air being gently blown through...

Ahhhh....I didn't know that! Maybe that's why but I certainly didn't feel any hot air being blown through the passenger seat.
Is that for Climate Control seats though? Are they not different from heated seats? I don't have any way of making mine cooler I don't think. I only have a switch with 3 settings.

Yes, air blown through the seat is climate control seats. Unless you paid something like £850 extra or purchased a Dynamic I think, you’ll have the ordinary heated seats with the three heat settings.

Doesn't HSE/Landmark spec have this feature then?

Don't know about HSE but Landmark doesn't have climate seats.
