Rejection

Post by Jockmcsporran » Sat Dec 01, 2018 11:27 am

Saw the other thread and a lot of info in it which I’ll read through later.

Just wondered how many had successfully rejected for oil dilution issues? I’ve had 4 services in 26000 miles of owning the car (bought at 13000). Basically every 8000 miles give or take. Means I need 4 or 5 services per year for my miles, mostly motorway trips.

Not sure, a couple maybe more, you could try putting in oil dilutions d having a read. Also not sure if these people had purchased new.
sometimes it makes it easier to reject. Why not try simply asking for your money back because of the servicing? They might well say no, but there’s a slim chance they might agree?

I rejected because of a different reason and it was Hell. If you’ve an awkward dealer, it takes time and a lot of determination. Sometimes I honestly wished I’d never started it. It was not a pleasant experience.

My 15 month old discovery 5 was rejected due to oil dilution. Had 16000 miles on the clock and 4 or 5 services.

Got a velar now.

Cheers. Gives me some hope for a positive outcome. I’m hoping that they’ll realise I’m not going to lay down then they’ll settle and move on but I’m suspecting it’ll go all the way and be dragged out

Will depend on your dealer, if you already have a case open with Landrover and how you word the rejection,

Having a case with Landrover certainly helps, then give the dealer one final chance to resolve the issue with guidance from Landrover technical. When it does not work - reject as unfit for purpose, not as described or of satisfactory quality.

Took me 4 ish weeks from letter to new car.

As above, it took me 5 months of total grief. Others on here took over a year.

Hi, another one just got rejected here in Australia for DPF problems and other quality gremlins.

So dealer rejected my rejection whilst citing a statement of demands and needs that I signed.

However, the date on the form they emailed me is a month after I bought the car and someone at the dealership has done a very bad job of attempting to forge my signature.
When I pointed this out I expected they would be straight on the phone or email but it’s been radio silence.

I’ll protect the guilty for now to see how they actually respond.

Hi Jockmcsporran... (great name!!)
I would be getting legal advice asap! If they have "forged docs" and you must be able to prove it it's something that should be escalated asap with JLR and maybe even the Police (I for one would take it straight to the coppers without any stuffing around and advise JLR about what you're doing in that order). This is very distressing that a "dealer would forge things" and JLR should know about it. Seek some very basic legal advice and this will speed up your claim to reject. Prove it and win!

It’s quite clearly not my signature as it looks nothing like it. I’m almost certain I wasn’t even in the same city when I allegedly signed it but need to check my diary and confirm.
