Just had this email:

"We are now launching an InControl Online Store which will allow you to renew your InControl services subscription. As the store is being launched close to your InControl subscription expiry date, we have extended it free of charge to allow more time for you to renew if you choose. The last day of your InControl will be Wednesday 14th March 2018 unless you renew on or before that date however your current InControl services will continue for this extended period.

Remember, you need to renew your subscription in order not to miss out on all the benefits including:

The Land Rover InControl Smartphone App* which let's you prepare for a trip by checking fuel levels or range remotely.
Optimising Land Rover Assistance** which uses GPS and vehicle health information to minimise any delay in getting you back on the road.
SOS Emergency Call, initiating a call to contact emergency services through both a manual voice call and automatically through a trigger.
InControl Secure*** theft alerts and stolen vehicle tracking will not be active following the expiry of your InControl subscription.
If you choose not to renew your SOS emergency call service as part of your InControl Protect or Remote subscription, a limited emergency call service will remain active for a period of time- for more information, please click here.

Once you have completed your InControl Services subscription renewal, your service will be activated automatically. If you choose not to renew, your subscription will expire and the InControl Services will be automatically removed from your vehicle. The automatic activation or removal of InControl Services from the vehicle may not take place immediately if your vehicle does not have sufficient mobile network coverage"

InControl remote + Secure is ÂŁ240 (12 months)
InControl remote only ÂŁ30 (12 months)

Thanks for posting that BK63.
I've previously asked LR how renewal will work and they said they were still working on it!
I only have 'Remote' and ÂŁ30 is probably worth paying - even though it's really only a play thing.

I agree Hmmm. I too only have the basic remote and wouldn't even pay 30p for it let alone ÂŁ30.
Hi Chippy.
No, I'm saying I might just about pay ÂŁ30 to renew!
Being able to view trips/mileage/etc. on a PC is nice and the basic 'tracking' information could be useful if my LR suddenly disappears.
But I would have preferred it if LR gave the basic service for free for those still under warranty.

I shall demand they bear the cost of renewal if in the unlikely event that I still own the vehicle when it's due, given that mine has never worked properly from Day 1. They (both dealer and CRC) have blamed my iPhone 6s and then cable for the error, yet I sit here nearly a week into temporary MY18 Evoque custodianship, with ICTP which works faultlessly with both handset and cable. Yet apparently, it's the "software on my handset"....utter BS!

I thought that reasonable for Secure as it is not just a tracker, but reports any movement in the vehicle such as a break-in (or phone holder falling off the windscreen.)

That's not too pricey TBH - especially for Secure.
Bit top end but not way off - most trackers annual subscription are ÂŁ150-ÂŁ200, and you get the InControl features. Does that figure include airtime for internet connectivity etc or is that still on a separate SIM?
On my Q7 I have a separate SIM for all data that I provide (like the 2106MY DS I had for WiFi only) but more recent Q7's have an integrated SIM and a data service provider (but presumably Audi have you over a barrel on that, not clear yet).

Remote, Protect and Secure all use the built in SIM not your mobile phone. All the phone does is interact (via the LR servers not directly) with the embedded SIM for Remote Start, door locking etc and display the data the car has sent to the LR servers like Journeys etc. The renewal would therefore also cover all data costs from the embedded SIM also.

Subscriptions should run for the warranty life of the car as far as I know. Not sure if you get a renewed subscription with an extended warranty though.
