Real World emissions for Ingenium engined vehicles.

Post by 0ldlandyman » Wed Oct 18, 2017 7:20 pm

Interesting article on the BBC news site this morning. There is a lab called Emissions Analytics which undertakes the measurement of "real world" emissions. Attached (hopefully), is a table showing how Land Rovers fair against Euro 6 NOX standards in real life. Unfortunately, they do not appear to have tested a DS but they have tested a new Discovery, fitted with a 2 litre Ingenium engine together with a 2 litre Evoke.

Their ratings are summarised in the right hand column of the table, E for the Disco and C for the Evoke.
E means it meets Euro 3 limits for diesels, whilst C means it meets Euro 5 limits! It could be worse, given that if you have a Qashqai 1.6 litre Euro 6 diesel, it doesn't meet any of the Euro standards!

It's possible that the testing of the Evoke was undertaken before Land Rover decided to up the AdBlue injection rates, in which case the Evoke/DS may actually meet Euro 6?

For info this is the website where you can view the vehicles they have tested.

I read the BBC article and thought it was very good and informative. ADAC have tested the DS here

This is a 2016 Euro 6 model, but I suspect before they upped the AdBlu dose.
Gone: SD4 HSE (rubbish), TD4 HSE Lux (great)

Arrived: TD4 (180PS) HSE Lux, Auto, Santorini, Ivory Leather, 19" Chrome Shadow alloys, Privacy Glass, Mudflaps (poor start..but turning out to be the best built yet :o )

But credit for the original article must go to Damian Carrington of The Guardian.
