For what it’s worth, we were waiting on a P300e SE as part of an assisted vehicle change after a long list of faults with our first one. The order for the replacement was made on 6th May, at the end of June they still would not even give us an estimate of a delivery date. In the end we went down the rejection and refund route. We’re switching to a full electric Audi Q4 with a delivery estimate of Oct/Nov. From our experience their appear to be significant issues with the P300e.

I ordered mine early December. I've just yesterday been told by the dealer that it should have a 'chassis number' next week which I assume means it will be ready start to or already in build. It has my original spec too so it's either MY21 as ordered or a hybrid of MY22 with my spec as ordered. I don't really care as long as I finally get it. No idea how long build to delivery usually is, I guess a month or so.

Significant issues with the plug-in hybrid, or significant issues with the ordering of one? If the former, would you care to share?
On order; P300e HSE R-Dynamic, Portofino Blue.

So I can only speak from personal experience, and I accept that we might have been unlucky but these are the problems we had.

We got the car at the end of December 2020, obviously with lockdowns etc we had little use of the car, but in late March it had its first failure. Without any warning the car stopped suddenly, fortunately it was just reversing on our driveway, and gave a battery fault. Land Rover assistance came out and couldn’t do anything, they escalated to a specialist, who again couldn’t fix it. In fact they could not get the car to move at all. The hand brake could not be released. It was recovered by being dragged on skids onto a recovery vehicle.

Once at the dealers it took over a week to diagnose the issue, a failed inverter. It then took three months to get the part. So early July having been in three loan cars we got ours back. First long journey and the engine management light came on. Land Rover assist checked and found fault codes indicating the valve advance mechanism was stuck and it was misfiring. So another recovery.

At this point we decided to reject. When I went to return some accessories to the car at the dealer, I wanted to put them in the boot of the car with picture as evidence that I had returned them. Only problem was they couldn’t actually get the car to move to get the boot lid away from the fence. Hand brake stuck again.

Not a great experience overall. To be fair the dealer did make quite a decent job of managing the repairs, and part lead times are not their fault, but these are not minor issues. The stuck handbrake was particularly alarming and thankfully on all occasions it happened the car was not on the road. Overall we did about 1300 miles and had the car for less than 3 months in the just over 6 that we owned it.

I've owned mine since new for 2 months and have only covered 809 miles. My parking sensors and 360 cameras have failed. The cars been booked in at the dealer for next week which was a 3 week wait time. So I've not really been driving the car as much because I have no parking aids. Plus they mentioned when booking the car in to be prepared for a wait as parts are taking longer to source. And...no coursesy car new policy apparently!

What did you do before parking aids were invented - walk or take the bus?

There’s no ‘might’ about it, you’ve definitely been unlucky! But parts failures do happen and at least you got a loan car in the meantime and sorted out with rejection in the end.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that what you have experienced could equate to significant issues with the P300e though, it was faults not design error (if I’m reading it correctly).

Does anyone know at what point the car gets its chassis number? My dealer said they should get a chassis number on my build next week. I wonder if this means it just has a build date or that it is actually being or will be built by next week? If so does anyone know how long it typically takes to build and then get to the dealer?

Parking aids where already invented when I started driving! 'your first mistake in assuming' In any case whatever mode of transportation I would or could have taken would be none of your business. This wonderful forum is all about sharing experiences and not to have idiots like you shutting people down. If you have nothing constructive to say then don't bother replying!!

:D It was just an utterly ridiculous thing to say and makes you look like an incompetent driver who’s forgotten the basics of driving.
