Scratches on Privacy Glass and Body Work

Post by Fraser » Thu Jun 10, 2021 9:21 pm

Hi folks

We have scratches on our narvik black body work but also the privacy glass from using a sponge that was far too abrasive.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how best to repair the body work and the privacy glass?

Thanks in advance!
On order:

HSE, 150bhp manual, narvik black, 2018.

Hi, not sure about the glass but for the bodywork I would start with a very light abrasive polish like Autoglym super resin polish, not too abrasive and depending on how bad your scratches are with a bit of elbow grease they should come out, if not then its time to step up to the more actual detailing polishes which need to be used with care as they can be quite abrasive. I have found the autoglym to work for me on a few black cars, good luck hope it works .

ditch the sponge best with a noodle mitt

As Gary said, plus use the two bucket method with grit guard when washing the vehicle

Cerium oxide to remove shallow scratches from glass. I have successfully used this on privacy glass with a DA polisher.

Plenty of info online.
