I ordered my pretty standard P300e early December and I've now been given an estimated delivery date of early September. It's moved back 5 months in total now. It'll be 9 months from order if the latest date is right. God knows what their backlog is like.

I have ordered mid-March, I was given an expected delivery date of 9th July. The date has not changed in the last couple of weeks.

I ordered in late March, spoke with the dealer two weeks back to ask how everything was going, told about delay and said I should have received a letter from land rover?

Letter turned up last week to say delayed due to semiconductor shortage, dealer says deleivery will be early June and will still be MY21 build, spoke with dealer and they will hold it until September and then register it so will be on new plate

I received a Landrover letter the other day, dated 25th May. What waffle, no commitment and nothing on delivery dates, just telling me something I already gleaned from the media. Mine is due (had to prize it out of dealer) mid July apparently. Was thinking about that registration date too if delivery slips, but TBH I would prefer a 21 plate instead of a 71.

DS200 HSE ordered 18th March
Delivery quote 1: 16th June
Delivery quote 2: 16th July

Not sure I’d want my new car sat in a compound for 10 weeks or so when I could be out driving it 😀

I asked my dealer again yesterday and he still didn’t have an idea; he’s ‘chasing for updates and will be in touch shortly’. After 10 weeks of it being in order, this isn’t acceptable so, today, I ordered a Volvo XC60, with a fairly firm delivery of late October. Just need to break that news now to the LR dealer!
2003 Freelander 1 - 3 door, loved it.
2007 Freelander 2 XS - great car, had it longer than any other car I’ve owned
2020 Toyota RAV4 - never loved it (awful infotainment) so sold it after only a year
2021 Discovery Sport 200d SE - haven’t got it yet!

I’ve had the letter too, and a “welcome to your discovery sport” email from Land Rover factory.

So I’m hoping/assuming the delivery date of 24th June is still standing.

Meanwhile my 90,000 mile my17 is now worth 20,000 according to webuyanycar and 18,600 according to Land Rovers own part ex valuation on their website.

This is up from £15,500 when I first ordered the car in March!

Hi adamthenav,

Can I ask, does the XC60 you’ve ordered have things like BLIS and the 360 camera? I have an XC90 so am a member of the Volvo UK forum, and the posts on there suggest that like most manufacturers, Volvo has been impacted by the chip shortage, and that orders with these options are heavily delayed / up in the air. In fact, some options have been temporarily removed from their configurators, and from option packs. Just letting you know in case you find yourself in the same position as you did with your Disco Sport order.

Mk9,
The difference between JLR and Volvo is that whilst JLR have shut down, Volvo have continued to build by limiting their add-on options, so their delivery dates re more predictable. They are not allowing certain options to be ordered to protect he ‘core’ cars, the main one being the BLIS, as you say. When I first enquired about 3 weeks ago, options such as 360 camera and adaptive cruise control weren’t permitted as they relied upon using elements of BLIS but they have a work-around, apparently, so I’ve been able to order both adaptive cruise and 360 camera, but it won’t come with BLIS. I’m happy with that as a compromise.

We’ll my car had a build date of 24th June and as of today it’s gone into “in build”.

So it’s looking positive, and I guess it means that the factory must be open at least!
