Diesel fuel consumption
Re: Diesel fuel consumption
Hi Martin,
Tim makes a good point regarding a trade off between superior features verses economy that competitors manage. However no reason they should be related and since mpg was your question, I am very much in your corner and wish there was a simple answer too.
If you care to know, I had 2 Evoques averaging 40mpg and the best on a couple of hours up the M1 was over 50 mpg but as it truly is about conditions and the way emissions claims are hotting up after the VW scandal you have to give yourself a good margin.
I don't yet own a Discovery sport and I'm glad I can reap from your question. I have a VW California and the economy swings immensely. Bad traffic low temperatures and a DPF region and I'm down to 34mpg. A good run in mild temperatures and thats 42mpg on the same commute over 22 miles. Others I know would kill for mid 30's in their Californias so very very difficult to calculate and I bet most people with low economy don't believe they wear lead boots.

Re: Diesel fuel consumption
It does entirely depend on what you are doing. As I said above, 41 MPG over 3 years and using the average MPG of a tank of diesel and not the trip computer.
However, there is quite a range of MPGs on specific tanks.
Best being 48 MPG (one trip registered 61 MPG on the trip computer).
Worst, 35 MPG.
If I had a D200 I would expect the same if not better due to the MHEV system being more efficient than the plain Stop/Start of my DS.

Re: Diesel fuel consumption
Hi D180 SE Tech, not a town use car but daily average of around 50 miles on motorway or main road, had it 2 years now trouble free and an absolute pleasure to drive, averaging around 40-45 at best, but that's more than I had expected so really happy with that considering the size and weight of the car
Re: Diesel fuel consumption
Hi, I am on my second DS first one 180d averaged 39mpg over 120,000 miles, 68 Landmark is 38mpg over 90,000miles and uses twice as much adblue
what are the PHEV's averaging ?
what are the PHEV's averaging ?
Re: Diesel fuel consumption
U can’t compare to a phev. It will entirely depend on what percentage of driving is done on EV
The numbers will be pretty meaningless.
Looks like u get good mpg already.

My 19MY D180 trip computer averages for each fill-up are 44 MPG and are the figures calculated from litres added to replenish tank and miles travelled since last fill average 41.66 for 28,000 miles - min 27 and max 53 for any individual tank fill)
(average for previous 15MY was 43.5 over 58,400 miles but with a lot of motorway trips to client work)

I don’t believe an auto would achieve those figures over an extended period.
