Velar (L560) sits on the same D7a Platform as F-Pace (X761), XF (X260) and, perversely, XE (X760)
Yep , I’m waiting for the FPace variant to be tested by owners for a couple of years first , but I must add the new nose job it’s had in design looks bloody awful imo.

Might just keep mine a while longer , it’s 3 years old next Feb and never missed a beat . I also Pondered an SVR 😍but looks like that’s been dropped of the website. I’ve got a hybrid bike so I’m doing my bit.😀

Maybe JLR are not selling those big engines to keep their C02 down for the EU figures?
SVR may be back soon, saw a test car in Bewdley a few weeks ago....

Latest news from JLR on the delivery delays and the situation regarding EV range and CO2 emissions.

  • JLR has halted sales of DS & Evoque PHEVs as it works to "reclassify the emissions ratings" of both cars.
  • P300e plug-in hybrids "are not currently available to order" but JLR will resume order taking on 26th October 2020.
  • Stated CO2 emissions are to rise from the figures given when the Evoque and DS went on sale in April.
  • Lowest CO2 for the DS will be 44 g/km.
  • Electric range will 43 km, previously quoted as 66 km.
  • JLR said it aims to improve those figures in "future versions".
"Work is ongoing, as the business emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, to deliver the extended electric range and lower CO2 figures.

Meanwhile, a well-known journalist has emailed to say that JLR is looking for a CO2 partner to reduce the impact of EU pollution fines. If it finds one (Renault is available) it is believed that this would ease the backlog on deliveries and lead to an earlier resumption of order taking.

If there is anyone on the forum with inside knowledge, maybe this would be a good time to confirm or refute the above.
Nice to know nothing is set in stone eh?
Thank god they have covid to blame for messing up there figures , that’s some virus !

Even now LR are hiding the truth as the new figures they are quoting are the best case figures for the Evoque entry level model & that being with 18” wheels, no spare wheel, No tow bar etc. So what are the figures for the discovery sport HSE the car I’ve actually ordered that was described as having a 42g emissions stated in writing on my order even more important to me what is the new electric only range? Looks as if my Dealer will be getting a call cancelling my order. At least I’ve got time to pull out.

How on earth have LR managed to shoot themselves in the foot like this? WLTP range two thirds of previously announced? And blame Covid-19?

Well company car drives are in for a shock , their propose BIK of 6% may well Gow up to 12-14% , so that’s going to cost and additional £1200 a year !

This rat was relatively easy to smell by those who have been the previous victims of brochure misrepresenration.

The figures provided by JLR "are manufacturer's estimates and will be replaced with the official EU test figures as soon as they are available. For comparison purposes only. Real world figures may differ. CO₂ and fuel economy figures may vary according to factors such as driving styles, environmental conditions, load, wheel fitment and accessories." JLR has published some uncorroborated manufacturer test results. These represent the best that it was able to achieve with the lightest, most economical configuration. The figures still have to be independently verified.

JLR has still not published the full brochure for the 2021 Discovery Sport. If we compare the website menus for the DS with the D5, the omission is apparent. At present all that's on the website for the DS is the Accessories eBrochure and a Pricing and Specification Guide. If it was a house, you would say that you were "Buying OFF PLAN". You will recognise the Full brochure by its size - normally it runs to just over 100 pages. It will be accessed by a hyperlink entitled "Main eBrochure".

The only person spreading fake news is you! As I have repeatedly pointed out, all the info is on the web site. There is no legal requirement to have a PDF brochure!

Here is the tech spec brochure with dimensions and official WLTP figures:

https://www.landrover.co.uk/Images/Land ... 798845.pdf

The EV range for the RAV4 is also further because of the 20% bigger battery.

Fact checked!

Seems like standards at the University of Fact Checking are not what they were. If I've followed this correctly, JLR has admitted to the press that the figures it provided previously are wrong - so why is this misleading data still on its website? As of time of posting, it hadn't been removed.
