The driving reviews will have been written ages ago and will have been under embargo until today, it’s why they all appear on the same day, possibly even automatically via a set publication date.

The images in the Autocar review don’t show the new steering wheel or Pivi Pro. So, are the 300e’s actually 20.5 versions?
In fact there wasn’t even any EV mode switch on the dash.

As above, done ages ago on pre-prod vehicles and all the photos are LR supplied. I guess MY20.5 PHEVs will be rare beasts.

CORRECTION:
Actually, there is the EV switch at the bottom of the lower ”screen”.

Update (close-of-business Friday, 23rd Oct): Movement is afoot. Today I was phoned by Land Rover Customer Services (as I'd emailed a complaint) and separately by my franchise garage with news on my (already built) Disco Sport p300e ... My vehicle has been 'Called down' [or whatever the expression is] and will be at the franchise by the middle of next week. Expected collection is a week today.

EU Fines due to SARS-CoV2 & PHEV delays

Post by PhilMabbots17 » Fri Oct 23, 2020 10:29 pm

Jaguar Land Rover says that any fines imposed by the EU as a result of missed CO2 emissions targets will be the result of the SARS-CoV2 virus and self-inflicted delays to the delivery of Evoque and Discovery Sport PHEV's [sic]. The company anticipates "EU 27" market fines of £58 million for the half-year to 30 June 2021. Full year provision will depend on future sales and timing of PHEV modes "including Covid impact". For the UK JLR expects to be handed "small fines" up to £10 million "given somewhat higher SUV mix in UK vs EU".

Future periods include company estimates although actual results could differ, e,g. JLR portfolio model mix and launch timings, market performance, "Covid impact and applicable regulations".

I'm collecting my car at 4:00 pm tomorrow (Friday, 30th Oct). I'll let folk know what I think after a few days.

Okay, I got my Disco Sport p300e on Friday afternoon (30th Oct 2020).

Very quick review: Visually it looks good. No faults found thus far. Very quiet to drive. Often I have no idea if it's the electric motor or the petrol engine (without looking at the dashboard) - that's under normal acceleration & at speeds under 40 mph. I've had a few runs on EV only. Range? Just over 30 miles. Perhaps 31 or 32 max. Charges in under two hours via proper home charging box. On rural (twisty/up & down) rides of about 50 miles I get well over 125 mpg (perhaps around 150), but obviously the battery is nearly empty at the end of the journey. Using just the petrol engine I got about 35 mpg on two journeys where I drove fast & aggressively. Charging it is not straightforward as the manual is pretty poor and (at the moment) LR franchise staff have never seen one so are no use. I've twice tried to time the charging for the early hours (as we have a reduced electricity tariff then). Both times failed - once it just immediately charged and the other time it didn't charge at all. I get the impression the EV/charging software is Beta and I'm testing it for LR! I'm guessing there will be updates this autumn that will sort it. Oh and my infotainment system is the old one as expected - the Pivi Pro (or whatever it's called) will be in 2021 models.

Overall: I'm pleased with it and glad we bought it. I think it will enable me to do my commuting/school run/shopping trips entirely on battery, The family love it too.
