2020 D240 windscreen trim not right!

Post by Peternb » Fri May 22, 2020 12:15 pm

I noticed the trim that runs up the side of the windscreen on the passenger side isn’t fitted correctly ( see picture) . Anyone else had this? Harwoods want me to book it in for them to look at which seems a bit extreme. Would have thought just a 5 minute job?

Ive had that exact fault on both my DS's (MY16 / MY18 D240), passenger side; the first one I assumed I caught with the polishing cloth. The trim popped up on the second car over time as I was extra careful with the cloth - it seemed to be a temperature/wind effect. Both times I managed to pursuade the trim back into place with a wooden block and careful tapping with a mallet. If it does it again I shall use some glue as it doesn't look as though it has a very strong clipping mechanism. Curiously, the drivers side is a much better fit.

Meanwhile be careful not to catch it with a cloth !

Same model, same problem :-)
I drove away from the dealers and got home half an hour later to find the OS screen trim out at the top, same as your pic. I banged it back in with my fist and so far (150 miles later) it's still in.

I had the trim on my previous Evoque come loose.
1st time I just put it back in place but it came loose again so I glued it in place. Never came loose again

Same for me getting home in 19MY. Driver side. First time the car had been above delivery speed.
Pushed I back down and gave a firm thump with my hand all the way from the base to the roof.
Now done 24k miles, no issues!

Exactly the same here, 2020 model, passenger side - I drove home from the dealers after picking it up and it was half off - gave it a thump and its never popped back out
