I have ebony leather with black headlining and prefer a dark interior. The panoramic roof gives a nice bright feel even with a darker interior and if you want to return to gloom just close the blind! I've had the new DS out for the day and was impressed with the improvements to the interior and the whole car generally.

If you can afford the headlights to get those as well. Matrix headlights are awesome. The XC60 I first ordered din’t have them, went out in my mates S60 with them. Upgraded my order so I could have them.

Hmm difficult decisions. I can make changes until the end of this month.

Another question. I chose carpathian grey with black pack. If I now go for the pano roof would you also pick up the black roof pack or doesn't it really matter because the carpathian grey is so close to black?

Lots of interesting comments there. My own are:

1 Tried a Velar twice and didn't like it at all as the bonnet is long, the car is lower and interior and boot space small, and more importantly it's very overpriced. The F-Pace and NEW Evoque are better value. Even if I don't use 7 seats I went for that version as it's what my current DS is, and they're there if you suddenly need them.

2 Disappointed that the pano roof is now an option but I wouldn't be without it as it gives an airy cabin. You don't need an opening roof because that compromises the excellent climate control.

3 My new HSE P250 is due in two weeks and should be awesome. I drove an HSE D180 for 24 hours and that was fabulous, the petrol model will be even quiter.

4 Very glad that JLR haven't fitted touch pro duo as it was very annoying in the Velar.

5 I've gone for standard LED lights as I drove a Velar with matrix and hated it, the lights were al over the place and distracting.

The beauty about JLR vehicles is that you get plenty of configuration choices, and we all have differing tastes and preferences.

Placed an order yesterday for the new P250 SE - to replace written-off MY16 D180 HSE. Very impressed by the new interior, tech and ride. Had to have the pano roof again as it makes the cabin much lighter and airier - even if it doesn't open. Had black roof previously but decided to stick with the body coloured roof this time (silver) to save a few ££. But went for black rails rather than silver as they add a nice contrasty black line. (Dealer - Guy Salmon, Bristol)
On order ( :D ): MY20 P250 SE Ignus Silver, Pano roof + rails, electric towbar
Gone (written off  ) MY16 D180 HSE Firenze Red, Pano roof + rails, electric towbar

Just to go against the grain... I didn’t order pan roof on my 2020 R-Dynamic HSE.

I spec’d many other things and decided I’d rather have things like dynamic chassis control etc.

So I opted for the no cost option of the oyster headlining to brighten the cabin.

If the roof opened.... I’d deffo order it.
On Order: MY20 D240 R-Dynamic HSE Indus Silver.

Last time I had a opening sunroof (not even sure how long ago - never opened it, just used the air con.

It’s like driving along with the windows open and I don’t do that either unless getting rid of the super-hot air when just moving off.

After reading all the comments, I made a change.

Removed Matrix LED
Removed Drive Assistance

Added Pano Roof

Now I did not order the black contrast roof because I thought it will be hardly noticeable with carpathian grey car. Do you agree?

I personally wouldn’t add black roof as it works like a heat magnet.

I'd say that was a good move.
