Hello from Freelander to Sport

Post by nomad » Sat Jul 07, 2018 1:35 pm

Hello everyone,
After many years with two wonderful Freelanders, we finally decided that it was time to get a lovely Disco Sport.
Having drooled over several on the LR website for some time, one finally became available at the right time and right location, so one day trip across the border, out went the old Dynamic and hello DS Dynamic. Hoping it will give as much pleasure and more than the Freelander.
Towbar scheduled to be fitted next month so we can take our bikes with us on holiday.
For those interested, we are getting the original LR towbar specific for the Dynamic with part #VPLCT0222 and electrics VPLCT0182 supplied by the helpful James at lrparts.net (if i'm allowed to say that).
Will add some pics of the rear once fitted.

p.s. Jockette also says hello and car is fab though she loved our F2's.

Hello nomad and welcome to the forum.

You’ll no doubt find plenty of useful information and a friendly bunch of members.

Any questions that you can’t find answers to via the very good search function just ask and there’s generally someone there to help.

Perhaps you’d like to add some vehicle details to your signature and also your location. Both help others when reading your posts or responding to queries.

In the meantime enjoy the DS.

Thanks nomad. I must say that I’ve never heard the expression “central jockland” before. Very good!

Hello nomad (aka wild rover) and welcome from me too. Did anyone on freel2 buy your Dynamic in the end? Or did it go for trade?

As above, plenty to read about on here.....DS Dynamic looks pretty tasty as well! 👍😊

Many thanks for all the welcome messages.
Sorry for late replies but it has been a hectic couple of months.
Across the border was heading south. Went with trade-in as it was short notice and urgent.
Had a great week on Mull with it but sadly managed to scratch a rear alloy. Suppose it is easily done on 20" alloys.
Getting used to the engine cutting out at junctions and all the gizmos.
Heated steering and screen is great as it got it's first experience of snow and frost while in Angus last week.
Hoping for many happy years of motoring with this baby.
