HSE Ordered and Thanks to Forum

Post by smiffy42 » Fri Apr 21, 2017 7:56 pm

Just ordered my DS HSE plus goodies and wanted to say thanks to the forum I have lurked in for a while.

No car is ever 'perfect' however much you pay (I know I'll get some contradictions to that. :D ) however the general consensus on the forum seems to be that despite a few issues it's a great vehicle so I've taken the plunge. :o

I did look at lots of other vehicles first but having done some off-roading in the past in Defenders knew it had to be a Land Rover.

Thanks for all the helpful hints, tips, and experiences, I will add some of my own when I get my hands on my DS.

Thanks again all :)

Re insurance try finding one that covers the pano roof as glass if you can might be a good idea.

Several good gap insurers , just search the forum for gap .......and same for insurance 👍

Cheers Barnsh,

Do I take from your comment that insurers don't want to cover the pano roof?

The obvious route would be Landrover's insurance but I gather from some of the comments posted they are pricey

Have a look at NFU - I haven't used them but they get a good write-up. Make sure you get your LR Experience invite. You may be surprised at what it will do compared with the Defender, but at the same time it's a very different driving technique, so worth learning how to get the best from it.

I found Landrover price ok , but the downside for me is pano roof isn't under glass cover, with them either!....do a search and some that cover it under glass will be found.
Insurers moving away from it as part of glass cover is quite common a google search will let you see this too.
