@ Barnsh - Thankfully plenty of time yet to get insurance sorted so will get a number of quotes to compare what they offer. Do like the idea of everything thru Landrover as it makes it all a bit simpler (in theory)

It's interesting to hear that there are insurance companies who cover the panoramic roof glass.

True, but it comes with a standard replacement excess of 200 pounds and its is compulsary excess (there is a catch!).

NFU and Direct Line both cover the roof glass under the same conditions and excess as windscreen.

Not sure about direct line - only ever hear bad things about them

Not living in the U.K. I'd never be in a position to even want to use them but I always live by the motto "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is" Replace too good by too cheap and you see what I'm getting at ;)

+1 for NFU. Very good. Used them for the last 20 years in all my Land Rover's.
There are far better forums to be welcomed at than this one that locks threads because certain members can’t take a bit of criticism

agreed about NFU but then ive never tried another firm why would I?

Ive cross checked quotes, sometimes staying with NFU is cheapest other times the difference isnt worth changing for.
Having an local agent makes all the difference,I even get his mobile number

Okay - here's something good about them.

I've used Direct Line for over 25 years (with a few gaps when I had Company Car) and I think they are reliable
and very straightforward to deal with.

I had one claim for total write-off (Hit by car that jumped red light) & they paid out quickly & slightly over the
Parkers valuation for the car.

I have spoken to them by phone for various questions & I find they seem very flexible and don't have to stick with a
set 'script' if they want to keep you as a customer.

They are not always cheapest, but they are normally pretty close for me.
If you're happy with your existing company, speak to them first
