Shortly to be an owner.
Hello there. A week and a half ago I really wasn’t thinking of selling my Volvo XC70 after 7 years of ownership but then had a ‘moment’ and went and sold it on webuyanycar.com and put down a deposit on a green DS Luxury 2.0 diesel MY17 which I collect on Tuesday. Being a motorbiker I usually look through owner forums closely but now realise that I should have looked for this site earlier. After reading some of it I’m now looking for a rope and a tall tree - no, just joking, really. Despite its issues, many of which I haven't yet found, I am excited with my purchase and will just have to get on with whatever I find.
It looks like I will be mining this site for info for some time as I’m reading about features that I never new existed, let alone on a car I’m about to buy.
Motorbike forums are traditionally very friendly places to be and I’m sure that this one will turn out to be no different.
Bob

Re: Shortly to be an owner.
Hello Bob,
Welcome and don’t worry. This forum is really here to help people with issues so you will find lots! The main problem people have is if they have chosen a diesel but don’t do the miles. I appreciate you may have had a diesel but the Euro 5 (and below) spec engine is a very different beast to a Euro 6. So as long as it gets a good run each week you’ll be fine.
Read the owner guide (eg about adblue etc.) and look after it and you’ll be fine.
Enjoy

Welcome. As Sandbox says, forums are full of people with problems. The "Silent happy Majority" never log on so people do get the wrong impression.
Not had ours long enough to have a valid opinion yet but so far, so good. Utterly fault free.

Like yourself last fall traded my 10 year old XC90 for a 2017 hse lux gas, two days after pickup drove from Niagara Falls to Atlanta Ga, since then have driven to Florida also, no problems so far, very satisfied owner

Hi Bob
welcome, like you I done the same and joined here after purchase, however year and half on with my SE Tech TD4 and not one single problem with the diesel, I do the miles and average between 40-100 + some days and no issues, I did change the oil at 11k which was my own preference. one small warranty job on an A pillar trim but no other issues and coming from an Audi this car is absolutley superb and brings a smile to your face every time
enjoy, they are fantastic and if you do have any issues there are many on here who will provide answers and solutions.

Re: Shortly to be an owner.
people just need to buy the correct engine for their purchase. I know many buy diesel for short trips because they don’t want to pay high road tax and want that diesel mpg. It is not feasible for the long run. My current car Infiniti Q50 220d around town is not eco friendly. 76L of diese only does 320miles a tank for town driving (10 miles round trip). Thats the reason i want to change to the P200. I used to do high miles per day but not anymore now.

Hello
We thought of changing our 17 plate disco for a Volvo xc 40
,I fancied
Something smaller, had a test drive,And Mrs said no, she didn't like
The seats ,the lack of elbow. room, no arm rest of indeed the looks.
On that forum similar talk of rejection etc.
