Best to give the program/browser , type of device etc you are using , as every device is different.

Use a search engine to find a specific ad blocker for your usage. I personally use "Ad Blocker Plus" along with Firefox browser. I also clear out tracking cookies monthly

I Use Firefox on PC and tablet, no popups, chrome on tablet even with an ad blocker and screen is half full of ads. I found chrome to restrictive for my uses.

If you go to Chrome Extensions and add Adblock Plus

Open the Chrome Web Store.
Find and select the extension you want.
Click Add to Chrome.
Some extensions will let you know if they need certain permissions or data. To approve, click Add extension.
