I was thinking of getting some steel wheels to put the winter tyres on but can seem to find any 18 inch wheels for a reasonable price. Sorry but Im not paying £100 a wheel.
Usually plenty of Evoque 18" wheels for sale. Seems the obvious answer unless you really want steels. I ran an old set of Evoque 18" on my DS in winter, and now have them on my MY19 Evoque. They came from a dealer in N Ireland, and I did have to fit TPMS valves.
I've always got my Wintracs from AJS Tyres - still Forum sponsors I think.

The original tyres on my 68 plate disco sport are looking like they won't last much more than the 21000 on the clock now, I think I might get another 2 to 3000 miles tops. They are the OE Continentals.

With winter coming on Ive order a full se of Vrederstien Wintrac Pro tyres.

I ve previously run several sets on Vredestien winter tyres before on my Freelander 2 and they were brilliant in snow / icy conditions and I used them right through the year.

To be honest they were excellent in the wet and gave as many miles as any M+S or 'all terrain' tyre Ive used before.

I was expecting better mileage from the original tyres but it seems most modern tyres wear out at about 25K miles no matter how you drive.

I will report back on the performance of the new tyres.
I’ve run Continental TS 850p winters all year up here with no issue , far better in the wet than the Pirelli summer slicks it came with. Brilliant in snow and ice .

Also a lot quieter in road noise.

Frosty ice roads this am too , summers up here are a June to October thing, so not worth it .

cheers for the replies, I never thought of a set of e vogue wheels. I presume they will have the same hole centres?

Evoque wheels are an identical fit. Used them on my DS. Do NOT use FL2 wheels, as the offset is different.
If the Evoque wheels have LR TPMS valves they should work with the DS. Mine came without, so I had to buy a set.
That's Evoque, NOT VOGUE! RR Vogue is a totally different beast.
Prices vary widely. You won't worry about the tyres as you want to fit Winters. e-bay seems to vary between £170 and £450 for a set.
I'd recommend genuine Evoque wheels, not aftermarket ones.

Also worth keeping an eye on the forums. members sometimes sell wheels.

There are companies that specialise in delivering wheels. Can be surprisingly cheap. There were recommendations on the FL2 forum. Not sure if it has come up here. Of course that means buying unseen. You could try these guys (not used them myself) https://www.paisleyfreight.com/alloy-wheel-courier
I have the good fortune to be a man of leisure (ie retired). If I needed them I'd probably have a couple of days in S Wales and pick them up en route. I once drove across to Somerset from London for a set of wheels - still worked out cheap! And a good deal for the seller too, as he had just bought a brand new set of wheels and tyres on e-bay cheaper than buying a new set of tyres!

I have used Paisley freight many times ( 7 I think ). They are an agent for APC

Never had an issue. If you can’t find the exact box to tick on there web site. Call them. They are very flexible.
