Dynamic bumpers retrofit

Post by RacerRyan » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:24 pm

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and was hoping I could find out some information from this knowledgable community.

I am looking into purchasing a 16 plate discovery sport HSE Lux in the coming week or so. I would like to find out if the 17 style dynamic bumpers would be a simple retrofit to the 16 plate car. From images I can't seem to see many differences to fitting and I assume Land Rover wouldn't go into redesigning all the fixtures and fittings just for dynamic bumpers.

Would someone be able to shed some light on this please?

I have searched the forum but unfortunately I couldn't find any information about the retrofit.

Ryan's. 8-)

Hi Ryan,

Yes they will be a direct fit, but I believe the rear under tray is different, so may need to change this too.

You'll also have to remove your original exhaust tips, as the Dynamic has a standard pipe with side which sit behind the chrome exhaust trim on the bumper.

Front bumper is one off and one on.

Side mouldings are a simply swap, but don’t forget the front small sections that are attached to the front wheel arch.

The rear bumper is also one off and one on, but the whole rear silencer needs replacing because the location of the tailpipes is in a different place to the original tail pipes.

Hi guys.

Bringing an old thread back to life. I did post another thread about doing this and even contacted duckworth as someone mentioned they could help but have had no reply back since i sent it a few days ago

Does anyone have parts numbers for this conversion pls

My reason for doing it is that the rear exhaust tips look a little lame and are uneven so the fake tips and deeper rear end bumper would finish the car nicely. If this worked out I may do the lower dynamic door trim and front bumper
If anyone can help pls

Many thanks Rich

I found this a nightmare as my other posts show. There are lots of little parts that cannot be bought separately, especially for the front. If you are buying everything brand new you will be fine, but if buying used make sure everything is included.
There are issues with the exhausts as mentioned so I decided if I was going to have to change the exhaust, for less money I would get a stainless system and a different rear bumper. The rest was Dynamic. This is what I was left with:
