Speed limit warning

Post by steve00136 » Fri Aug 18, 2017 11:25 pm

Does anyone know of its possible to swop the over speed limit warning message to say just couple of beeps (or something similar). A useful feature but that message is way too long.
Guess i could be more careful not to go over speed limit in the first place ......

I just changed the speed she shouts at, so she shouts less often.

Ive not tried turning the volume down as she's shouting yet ? That might worksame as sat nav commands.

Steve - no you can't replace the voice with a alternative sound. Although the "posh English lady telling you off for speeding" has become quite a feature for my daughter's school friends (we're in Australia by the way). They await it with anticipation and dissolve into fits of giggles when she comes on. I've even been known to deliberately speed to give them some fun - do you think that'd work as an excuse for the police

Barnsh - yes if you hit the volume controls as she's speaking it turns just her up or down.

Can anyone advise where to turn this on and off please?

I have a MY17 with the 10 inch screen so "in control touch pro" and cannot find it anywhere!

I THINK it was on at one point and i turned it off, but that may have been a loan car.

I have the 17c update installed. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Many thanks.

I thinks it’s in the navigation settings.

On a new car if you configurer Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) the voice dissappears. Instead the current speed limit flashes if you go over the threshold. Also instead of being able to carefully specify your own threshold you only get coarse option thresholds like 0, +5, and +10 over the limit.

In my MY16 car the speed limit moved from the Navigation display (no TSR) to the Message Center display with TSR, replacing the engine temperature display. On MY18 that came with TSR ithe speed limit is also in the message centre but is additional to the engine temperature display.

I never even turned her on - it's enough having SWMBO shouting at me

What I did find frustrating and it's the same on the Evoque is that the minimum threshold is 10km/h which in a 30km limit which, if I didn't take care (which of course I doanyway) automatically means a speeding fine. 5km/h would be ideal.

I dont have TSR so i would expect it to be under tje nav settings as you suggest, but i cannot see it anywhere!

Starting to think i have gone mad and it was never there and i was only seeing it on the loan car.

Can anyone post a photo of where the setting is before i go mad?
Thanks
