Well I think it’s not actively working anyway. I don’t think JLR trust it enough yet 😂

Maybe with Phase 5..?

I had it updating over the air whilst sitting on the driveway, but at 27gb and the potential of the update being 3 hours and getting interrupted, I reverted to a USB download update, which still took the best part of half an hour to install.

Think from memory the car appears to have 500gb free, so plenty of room.

Really? I only see a notification that a new map is available. No option to actually download in the car. Where does the D5 tell you how much free space you have ?

Updates every three months from what I understand. I don’t have to pay as I’ve got a Pro subscription valid for three years.

Interesting. Your D5 has a power button on the touch screen (bottom row of icons, 3rd from the left). Pretty sure mine doesn’t.

Simon, the spare space came up on the top right hand of the screen when I tried downloading the update, but then as I said, I gave up because of the time it would take. It downloaded about 4% when I cancelled it. Not sure I can recreate it if I am not downloading, but I’ll try and see if I can and photo.

Yes, it’s an off button on screen. Also have the option to create my own home screens. I am not conversant with the system yet tbh.

Are you on the latest phase 4 ....it’s being updated every few weeks .
I get the impression they release a phase, use us as guinea pigs for fixes then release next phase and off we go again.
One day in phase 10 everything might work ?

Just noticed there is no camera icon.

@Highlander, is yours an HSE?

No, a SE. I debated the HSE, but the only things of note for me it didn’t come with was the rear camera and the panoramic roof. I didn’t think that justified bunging another £8k at it tbh. It’s mildly annoying as the new 2019MY SE now come with a rear camera, but I knew this and didn’t want to wait until November to pick up a factory order.

Shame, I just asked CRC for a friend who has ICT only, if they'd give him a complimentary map update. He's not had any since buying his car and is about 8/9 months away from the end of his PCP. Unfortunately they're not up for it. Anyone managed to get an update for their SD card ok ?
