Help Please -Broken Head Unit Infotainment System

Post by Mattdan77 » Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:50 pm

Hi,

I have a 65 plate Discovery Sport and the head unit is stuck in what I think is a re boot mode. The radio comes on for one second, then stops for a minute with a blank screen or sometime showing the Land Rover Badge. This continues to happen over and over again.
I have take the car to Land Rover and they tried an upgrade, said it didn't work and that I would need a replacement unit at £1800. I can not justify this money so refused the repair.
I am considering replacing the unit myself as I have seen them from breakers on ebay for under £200, but am unsure of how hard it may be or any consequences that may arise from this.
If any of you have any experience or advice on this matter I would love to hear it.
Many Thanks
Matt
