It's been stated from time to time that premium quality fuel can help solve dpf problems (I was first told this by a LR Experience instructor way back when the dpf first came in on the FL2). This is the first hard evidence I have seen, and looks very convincing. Unfortunately the temptation to use supermarket fuel is still great, with more than 20p a litre difference in some cases.
Worth noting again that if this problem occurs within warranty period the parts (including dpf) will be replaced foc.
I've always used Millers additive to my 2.2 engine and supermarket fuel, also keeping all vehicles topped up as might be fuel shortage next

Presumably this can't happen on the 2.0L with its LP (post-SCRF) EGR ?

Difficult to see how. Component #22 is the LP EGR Cooler

I have been working on a car that had been in and out of JLR for P049B-00 code "Exhaust Gas Recirculation "B" Flow Insufficient Detected.
The car had egr pipe low pressure egr valve and was told it required egr cooler and dpf .

I removed the low pressure egr and inspected found filter internal block with soot . Should be no soot in cooler after dpf . Customer had been using supermarket fuel and had now stop and using fuel additive every 3 month .

I removed and clean filter and car has now done 10k miles without a fault .

Hop this might help someone save some money.
Hi Dave86.. I don’t suppose you can indicate where I find this filter ? Is it easy to remove to clean ?

Thanks
