Remember the key to getting them replaced under warranty is to say they are noisy as this is one of their “conditions” on their article for replacement. so don’t forget to mention that 😉

Well car went in today got call later to say it is ready new discs and pads fitted and ad blu top up. Pick her up tomorrow. Currently in a disco 5 HSE. I must say I really like it and it is like sh##off a shovel when you need it.

Really can't complain with Lloyd Landrover Carlisle response to all my issues.

We had the rear discs and pads changed under warranty last week. The dealer said that the issue is well recognised by JLR. He also said that the disc material has been re-specified and improved to alleviate the problem. Also fixed was the driver door handle thumb plate which had fallen off somewhere. The cruise control buttons are due to be changed but no parts were available for "about four days". Oil and filter changed as service warning was on. AdBlue refilled. Software updates N118 and N025 installed. All done comfortably in one day. Courtesy car provided.

What a refreshing tale to hear of a competent dealer that appear to know what they are doing. Please share who they are, as I'm sure others as well as me would probably like to utilise them if they are not too far away.

Hotfrog, it sounds as though you have a dealer worthy of the title. If only they were all so responsible towards the customer.

I had my rear discs and pads replaced last week. I had not made the complaint as there was no noise that I could tell. The DS went in November to have the "extra oil service" under warranty, and the dealer said that my rear discs had excessive wear and they would change them under warrant when they received the stock. It took them a few months to get the stock but I didn't have to fight fot it to be done. In fact despite all the issues I have had, all relatively minor, the dealer has been excellent. Unlike Audi before them who were a nightmare to deal with.

I must say that in almost 50 years of car owning, I have never come across a situation as is regularly described on this forum.

LR seem to be designing /upgrading/ re--programming / re- engineering this DS as they lurch from one problem to another .

Incredible to watch videos of it climbing mountains, fording rivers, crossing deserts, driving through forests, etc etc,......and yet it won't seem to work on the streets of Britain,.............bizarre
