Passenger and Drivers Side Window scratches

Post by C130jtechie » Sat Apr 17, 2021 8:16 am

Hello, I have a 2019 Landmark and have started to notice with the sunny days and the windows being used more that the Passenger and Drivers side windows have developed vertical scratches, obviously noticed these sort of things on older cars but not one so new, car is washed properly, has anybody else noticed this?, through research I know Jaguar had an issue a couple of years back with the same problem and if customers commented they replaced the seals and glass. Our other car, different make, coming up to 3 years has none.

I don't even use a scraper when frosty!

Many thanks for any feedback

Hello - are you definitely sure they are scratches? I get lines in the front windows in the corner by the window controls but they are dirt caused by moss etc. in the rubber window seals. A good clean of the glass (inside and out) and removing all the detritus from the window seals gets rid of the lines.

Grit caught on the window seals scratching glass which is possibly too soft?
