Work has been manic over the past few weeks, so been spending too much time in the evenings working.

But hopefully over the hill I was climbing lol!

Peugeot isn't actually buying Vauxhall. A friend of mine is part of the senior Management at Vauxhall, and the press have held on to the story that Peugeot/Citroen have now bought Vauxhall/Opel.

PSA have actually bought the an 85% stake in Vauxhall Opel, with GM in America keeping a 15% share. PSA are the parent company of Peugeot/Citroen, so PSA will own all the brands.

GM America have kept a stake as they need access for their Buick brand. The Regal (Insignia), Encour (Mokka) Cascada (Same here) and soon the Astra, and Holden in Australia take the Astra, Insignia, Zafira, Cascada and Corsa.

PSA plan to move Opel upmarket to be a proper premium brand, with Peugeot/Citroen being the run of the mill volume brands. This is a good move, as GM America haven't been investing in the European arm. The only down side I see, is that if OPEL is to be developed into a premium brand, we could lose Vauxhall here and take the Opel name instead.

The Astra 888 was a shockingly bad car. It wasn't built as originally planned and spend was capped on the design. It was supposed to have a limited slip diff, 250bhp 2.0 Turbo, proper ABS plastic body kit, and the rear seats trimmed to match the Spark fronts.

In the end it had a fibre glass kit, no engine tweaks from the standard 192PS engine, the wrong offset wheel, 888 had to go for 8" ET35 OZ wheels to fill the arches, which wrecked the drivability, so swapped the 215 40 tyres to 235 40 tyres to compensate. Every 888 failed the initial Vauxhall QA checks because of the way the wheel arches were cut away, which also removed the front bumper mounting point in the process.

They look fantastic, but dynamically are extremely floored.

Hi Mav, I came across your car through a google search for Corris Grey, with my new DS being produced next week in that colour and I was just playing on here to make sure I'd made the right choice! Looks great, I have Ivory and privacy glass too.

Anyway, I was just wondering how it is your car is showing with 17-plates in the towbar pics when you bought it in January as a 9-month old car, making it 16-reg I'd guess? Did I miss something, was there a problem with your used vehicle and you had to replace it?

I thought that might confuse some people lol.

Its a private plate. Two of our cars start with L17 and the other starts with E17. It is a 16 plate car.

Good choice of your colour scheme. I havent had any regrets at all!
