Are the ones complaining of lag from standstill driving the 2.2 engine model with 6 speed box or the later 2.0 Ingenium engine with 9 speed box?

My current Freelander has the 180 BHP 2.2 engine with 6 speed box and definately suffers from it but the DS's that I have driven twice now with 2.0 litre Ingeniums and 9 speed box were definitely much better but not quite perfect. Try launching in sport mode, it seems to improve it slightly.

Had my Gearbox sotware upgraded to latest version 2 at dealers last week. did a 500 mile round trip this weekend - what a difference - the lag has been greatly reduced and the gearbox just feels so much better - car more lively and a pleasure to drive.
Economy doesn't seem to be unduly affected - may be a little less mpg but can live with that. Got an overall mpg for whole trip of 41.7 mpg and that was hitting 90 in places !! Shh!!
Had fuel line safety recall done at same time and they flagged up another recall when I took it in of loose rear number plate lights - hadn't noticed that one but they did that as well. Can't fault Listers of Hereford.

Now covered 270 miles in my new MY19 Landmark and I am finding the gear box much better than my old MY16.5 on which I had the software updated which made it better but still not good.
The landmark feels much livelier without too much hesitation when accelerating quickly in Drive.
So far I'm impressed so will keep my fingers crossed!!
Stop Start not working though - never has - so have booked it in to get sorted. Can't say I miss it as not a great believer in it but I do like things to be right.
