During the final kilometers of a 125 km trip the red triangle warning popped up and the info screen between the dials stated Reduced power
The power of the engine was gone but it was still possible to drive home.
At home stopped the engine and restarted warning still there after another re start warning gone
After total 5050 km the first (small ?) problem

Ideas ??

After 90 minutes DS started normally

I would get it to the dealer for them to read the saved fault codes, that way they will get an indication on what triggered the warning.

Hopefully there are some "saved faults", others have had similar issues and no faults showed up on the diagnostics.

After the weekend the DS will be checked at the dealers

Today the car performed during two trips of approx 50 km normal still it will be checked after the weekend at the dealers

Today at the dealership the fault was logged. The DPF was not cleaned ? The mechanic overruled the computer system to clean the DPF and drove for 15 minutes with no "new" problem .

Why this fault was triggerd they couldn't tell me. The mechanic said that when it happens again they needed to contact LR about the problem.

Hopefully the problem will not return

The Freelander 2s also had an issue where the car would go into "Limp Home" mode and this was found to be an issue with the DPF, apparently a software was released to solve it. Apparently an "Italian engine tune" can help too
