Our new DS has now covered some 600 miles.
On the trip home from new from the dealers there was a traffic jam and two hours later the low coolant warning came on.
I checked the level the next day and it was on MIN.
I checked the handbook and it said best top up with correct anti-freeze mix but a small amount of cold filtered water was acceptable.
Just over 1/2 pint went in to make the FULL line and the message go away.
A week later we went to Birmingham, the day after we got back the low coolant message was back on. Topped up again, this time a pint.
Now the anti-freeze is week so i called the dealers, they sent a LR mechanic and again he topped up the water.
That's 3 pints in just over two weeks!
My mark TWO Cortina never went through water at this rate in the early '80s.
The system has been pressure tested and no leak found and no evidence of leakage down in the drip trays.
I have a bad feeling it is the head gasket..............Car going to garage tomorrow.
Any body else had this???
