Electrically deployable tow bar

We are hoping to order a Discovery Sport HSE in the next few days but have a question I hope somebody might be able to answer please. We are keen caravanners in the UK and as we are now both part of the 'silver brigade' we are thinking of adding an electrically deployable tow bar to our order. We have one on our current BMW and it makes life so much easier. If you have one fitted to your DS is the electric socket electrically deployable too? Also are all the wires connected to the socket? We discovered that all the wires weren't connected on the BMW so the caravan battery wasn't being recharged while towing, and more importantly the fridge wasn't connected so my white wine wasn't chilled when we arrived on campsite!! It cost us over ÂŁ300 to have that rectified and we would like to avoid that again.
We had a DS on loan for a day this week and loved it. :D

Beast - thanks for all that very useful information. We like the electric tow bar in our BMW - it fits neatly under the car and at the press of a button it appears. Yes please can I take you up on the offer of a photo of your tow bar?
Philn - a different question - does the Homelink work? Is it worth the money? We have electric gates and we may build a garage with an electric door. Homelink appeals so we don't have 2 remotes rattling around in the car.
Thanks for your replies.

I posted photos of towbar in gallery about 9th April.

Homelink-well, doesn't work with my garage but transmitter in my garage is being changed at LR'S expense to make it work. Has dragged on for a period of time but hopefully will eventually happen.
As you are having the electrics fitted you will be able to chose which system you have and if you check with homelink website will show you what is compatible.
Unfortunately I wasn't informed when I had it fitted to the car.

I was in a different position than Mr Beast.
I had ordered the removable tow bar but got instead the electrically deployable tow bar.
The socket is attached to the tow bar and moves with it. However, I was told you shouldn't keep the 13-to-7 pin adapter attached while deploying the tow bar.
At least all the 7 pins I am using were connected.
I did post an image of the tow bar as deployed on some of the earlier tow bar threads.
