They are to show you how green your driving is.. When you go into eco mode the display pops up. Press the end of your turn signal stalk and it will go away.

Shows acceleration, speed and braking, it may be interesting to drive and try to keep all in the green.

I have used it 3 times for extended time.

Well more than one time as I used while teaching my grandson to drive (later this year my granddaughters turn). Makes the car slower and as if it had 50 HP less LOL.great for teaching and after several lessons I turned the eco mode off and my grandson asked me why the car drove better.

Accidentally used it on a long trip ( pressed wrong button) and temperature outside was in the high 30c and low 40c and I thought the A/C had failed because no way could it cool the car. Finally noticed the eco mode warning on the dash, placed car back into normal and car cooled down within 1/2 K.

Last time I used it was to see if driving the speed limit would help with fuel economy. Also no passing etc. Had to turn it off 1/2 way through my trip as it would not allow the car to keep up speed while using cruise in the mountains ( OK going downhill) MPG conversion was 28.5 mpg with eco on and the return with eco off all the time I got 31 MPG. A few other variables , temp, construction and traffic congestion . Used Drive and eco going and Sport Mode coming back.

Doing basically same trip next month and will see fuel economy both ways using sport all the time. Yes not speeding even when stupid little Honda civic pass me
