Is it just me, or does 3d mode on the sat nav look exactly like 2d?! From, what I have seen 3d mode on BMW and Mercedes has a horizon and blue sky feature on it, so this was kind of what I was expecting to see.

If there is a 3d effect, then it's very subtle/difficult to detect. Perhaps I should have ordered the LR 3d specs to go with it?

The DS's 3D view on the new system is actually more advanced than the faux 3d effect you get on some systems that just put a blue strip at the top of the screen for sky.

This system shows 3D buildings extruded up from the map data and also shows some landmark buildings in major cities as proper 3d models, for example try zooming into St. Paul's in London and you'll see the effect.

I think it's like google maps, it only shows certain cities in 3D mode.
