Hi all.

had a new gearbox at 36000 miles, gearbox light came back on for the 3rd time. Specialist is saying that before they can tell if there is a gearbox problem they want the camshaft position sensor changed because its showing historical codes and they have said that if the sensor is faulty then the gearbox may not be getting the info it needs and be throwing a code.

Anyway, i would like to know where the sensor is and a part number. if its easily accessible i could do it myself and then get the codes reset at my friendly local garage.

Any help would be much appreciated. The car has been a nightmare since we bought it and it seems to be problem after problem. Also have an airbag light on but need to fix one problem at a time so ill save that for another day.

Thank you

Hello all!

I’m actually dealing with a few codes on my 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE. Codes P052A-00, P000A-00, P0011-71. I’ve replaced so much in this engine, curious to know if you have any insight on what would need to be replaced. I have one more camshaft sensor I need to replace and I’ve already replaced the VVT solenoids, MAP sensor, fuel injectors, spark plugs, purge valve and engine valve cover (found a crack in the cover when I was changing out the VVT solenoids).

When I googled the codes I found that it believes it is an issue with the variable camshaft, timing system. Specifically a faulty seal in the VCT. If you have any ideas on what that might be / parts, please let me know.

Thank you!
