Re: Cheat device EDC17

Interesting submission to the Government Transport Select Committee made by VW and Audi owners on the effects of running their EU5 and EU6 diesels after the EDC17 cheat software had been disabled. When this was written 49% of owners identified as "too distrustful" to have the VAG software update ins...

Climate Law Threat to JLR

9728b64d713e1ad69cc54d84aa60a62f.jpg JLR’s business model is looking shaky. More than 80% of the vehicles that it sold in Europe last year run on diesel, a technology that’s been undermined by Volkswagen AG’s emissions cheating and the threat of bans in many cities. SUVs make up an even higher perc...

Re: Rav4

45% all-American beef-cakes vs 55% chics in good 'ol Trumponian America? I'd say that's a fantastic achievement by Toyota - and that was in 2017 with the appallingly-shaped Mark 4. Judging by the amount of lippy I see being touched up in commuter queues the percentage of female Evoque drivers is qui...

Re: Service indicator

. RPR, could you obtain the estimated oil dilution? If it's approaching 10% it would be useful to know what the actual percentage is. How do I do that? Also how will I check that only the oil service interval is reset? Yes, you'll need to ask the garage to check the "Oil Dilution Value" parameter o...

Re: Service indicator

Any car doing 9,300 miles a year with a service required at 13,900 miles surely has a 10% oil dilution threshold. There's about a 1 in 20 chance of this mileage being achieved with 6% dilution and those cars are usually being hammered... ...unless of course JLR has performed an engineering miracle, ...

Re: Time to change

FRED? What’s the difference pre and post FRED with the SCRF? I love it when we have GTAD. That's Guess The Acronym Day for the out crowd. Er, let me see, if she's talking about maintenance rebates.....it's got to be... Fixed-Rate Engineering Directive. But, as it was also in connection with Scrappe...

Re: Dpf and egr issues

Had my egr and cooler and PDF [sic] changed under warranty two weeks ago with no argument from either dealer or jlr £3,500 worth of repairs due to a systemic fault on a 29 month old car? Just another ordinary day of JLR ownership. But beware of complacency... The dealer will give you a one ...

Re: First post

I know what you mean about it being a great car etc. But you shouldn't have to do your own oil changes every 6k miles in the 21st century imho.
