Re: DPF Fault !!!!!

Irrespective of the MIL illuminated or not, a fault ode will have been generated and stored. To avoid the usual fob-off from the retailer, get the LRA tech to pull this code and include it on the report to the retailer. If he doesn't, the retailer will simply say "no fault found" without interrogati...

Re: 19/20" wjeels

I ran the FL2 for over 185,000 miles on 17" and 18" Goodyears never once got a puncture, and had a full sized alloy as a spare. The DS has 20" Continentals and have just suffered a second puncture in less than 20,000 miles, both scrapped the tyres as too close to sidewall. Driving a DS on a space s...

Re: Oil sample problem/fuel dilution

JLR would have to prove (which they won't even attempt to) that this is down to your negligence/misfortune. It wouldn't be difficult for them to find a piece of plastic clogging the oil pick up, or, shredded up and pumped into the hydraulic lash adjusts / variable cam timing actuator. Quite right. ...

^^^ DEFINATELY food for thought.^^^ Apple/McDonalds/Vodafone/(the list is endless).....it's all about the Marketing. Coupled with the fact the Human Beings are unable to think for themselves anymore (Social Media Brainwashing perhaps?) Only earlier this evening, the AA reported that their most commo...

Re: Least reliable brand again...

Disagree every survey throughout the magazine\ media world says the same. Says more about the media world than anything else to me! You only have to turn on the news to see how they try to influence/divide/destroy. As an example, read some reviews of, say, a Range Rover Sport from the likes of What...

Re: Least reliable brand again...

Whilst I am the first to acknowledge that JLR have gremlins aplenty, this report needs to be put into context and taken with the pinch of salt that it warrants. The way that they collate their data is to lump any vehicle with something as trivial as a broken bulb into the same pot as one with a fail...

Re: Oil sample problem/fuel dilution

Your LR specialist is fairly on-point with this one.mits unlikely to cause any issues if it's in the sump. That said, has it dropped into the sump, or is it jammed somewhere between the dipstick holder and the sump? Either way, give you have 2+ years of warranty left on the vehicle, I would personal...

Re: Buying advice

The 2.2 is a Euro 5 unit, which doesn't have the faff of Adblu/regeneration and oil dilution that the Ingenium unit suffers. Mainly because it can burn the soot off through heat alone during normal operation. Your journey pattern described above would be perfectly suited to this engine, indeed in th...

Re: Windscreen calibration & wipers

The only thing that needs calibrating is the camers(s) - the rain sensor simply has to be in exactly the right spot, with no air bubbles. That's all it would take to cause it to false.

Re: DPF Fault !!!!!

and is immediately hamstrung by the fact that the filter is one fifth full (20%) almost immediately after a successfully completed active regeneration. Most cars don't regenerate all the way down to nothing. It's inefficient to try and fully burn off the soot. It's a case of diminishing returns. Th...
