Re: Service interval OR NOT.

They can fix the problem or more to the point mitigate the issue so that the engine will go 21K miles till it needs an oil change. They are waiting for a patent to be applied. This makes interesting reading and I wonder if this is the patent Zedman is referring to. http://images2.freshpatents.com/i...

Re: Time for my DS to go

Hello Les, your decision is completely understandable albeit unnecessary if we really consider all the fuss made about the Diesel engine of late.

I know a couple of fellow caravaners who drive the Kuga (Diesel) and are all well pleased with it.

All the best for you

I appreciate roadsters comments but JLR need to take a look at other manufacturers who seem to be able to get it right. Or take a look at the aviation industry. Glad JLR don't make aircraft!
Absolutely correct Discotex.

Re: JLR are aware of problems in production!

Just skimming through this indicates to me once again that there is still no correctly functioning quality system in place. Anyone who accepts an FTT of 81% as being fantastic improvement be surely be seen as a candidate for Sir Alan Sugar (you’re fired). That still means nearly 20% scrapping, rewor...

Re: AdBlue/DEF Range Thread

I have not read through all 50 pages as I have a life lol ;) It as a general rule of thumb, the following is about right, it will vary slightly on driving style etc. 2015/2016 Models - Single Spray Cycle and expect to see up to approx 13000 miles between fill ups. 2017> Models - Double Spray cycle ...

Re: Thinking of buying...

Thanks PaulCP - I get what you're saying. Heart says go for the car. Head says don't touch with a barge pole! If you look at the details in my signature then you'll perhaps understand why I would suggest you listen to what your head is telling you and forget the emotions. Our intention was to keep ...

Re: Happy Christmas and a good New Year

Same here Highlander. We came up to Sylt since fireworks are banned on the island due to the high percentage of properties with thatched roofs. I completely agree with your view on banning fireworks completely. In Germany alone they estimate that 4500 tons of fine particles were released into the at...

Re: Happy Christmas and a good New Year

Seasons greetings from me currently on the island of Sylt off the coast of northern Germany.

Good to hear from you all and, of course Muddy - where have you been hiding?

So, Land Rover are dropping service plans on DS from 2019 ..............

Thoughts?
Is so I imagine it's only because they are losing money on them. What other reason could there be?
