Most people are standing in the wrong place (ie directly behind the tailgate) so won’t trigger the sensor and if they did, the tailgate would open into them. You need to stand to the side:

This is no longer an option on the second gen DS (20MY onwards).

Re: All change at the top....

An interesting comment.

Presumably he's agreed a very lucrative deal for what could be his last "challenge" and isn't too bothered about his reputation if things go badly wrong.

Re: All change at the top....

Are there no Brits that could have taken on the task?

It seems as though M.Bolloré didn’t leave his previous post completely voluntarily.

Let’s hope he can do a good job for JLR at this difficult time,

Re: New (2015) DS Teething Issues

I have been tempted to give the car back to be honest and I’m still considering it I think I’d be sorely tempted to do the same thing if I was in your position and could do so without too big a financially loss. The early models had a whole host of problems as you could no doubt see from looking at...

Re: S or D for towing?

Initially I always used the D mode for towing but after also reading something about towing in S mode tried it. To my amazement it reduced fuel consumption by about 10%. At the time we had an 1800 kg van and the 150hp engine. Even on S the engine noise level was fine. I’d say it’s worth trying it to...
