Re: My car on the production line

Interesting.

Taking a camera phone onto the Assembly line at Halewood Operations used to result in instant dismissal, and the forfeiture of the handset to Business Protection.

I wonder what's changed?

Re: Extended Warranty

There are many, as you rightly point out, significantly cheaper. The problem is, that without Land Rover Assist, your average technician will be unable to pinpoint the problem should one arise (unless bleedin' obvious), as they will not have access to SDD/Pathfinder. At best, they will have a generi...

Re: Maintenance Plan Refund Anyone ?

I would have thought, from a mis-selling perspective, that if you were sold a 5 year Service Plan, then that is the essence of the contract, irrespective of the amount of services that the vehicle has required. Mileage obviously a factor and no doubt buried in the small print, but if it was communic...

Re: Environmental Attitude Challenge

Fair enough, you are entitled to that opinion. I asked the Extended Warranty team specifically why the emissions system wasn't covered, and the manager that I had the conversation with flatly refused to be drawn. Given that it is emerging that this is the vehicles main Achilles Heel, they MUST be aw...

Re: Environmental Attitude Challenge

The emissions components will be dead and need replacement long before they reach 8-10 years old making such cars uneconomical, and therefore prolonging the use of pre-EU6 diesels much longer than would be normal. I've suspected for a good few months now that the DS was designed to fail deliberatel...

Re: almost going to pull the trigger... but need a push

Usually 50 mph for 30 to 40 minutes per trip. It’s not rocket science! If you are driving the old PSA 2.2 unit, I would agree with you. However, if you have the 2.0 Ingenium unit, then I will challenge that. To get to the M40 from my driveway involves picking up an NSL road, all the way to the traf...
